Earlier this week Xiaomi launched the Mi TV 5 and the Mi TV 5 Pro series in Beijing, China. All the smart TVs launched under the Mi TV 5 and the Mi TV 5 Pro series come with Quantum Dot display. For now, the new Mi TVs will sell in Xiaomi’s home market, China. There are no reports on whether the Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro series will hit other markets or not. After launching the Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro series Xiaomi now confirms that it will bring OLED screen TVs next year.

Xiaomi executive Li Xiaoshuang confirms this bit of information. According to ithome.com website, Xiaomi will start working on OLED screen smart TVs in the days to come. The company confirms that it plans to launch OLED Mi TVs in Q1 2020. Notably, OLED panels are expensive and hence it is safe to say that the upcoming OLED Mi TVs will fall under the premium TV category and not affordable similar to the existing Mi TVs. It is likely that with the OLED Mi TVs Xiaomi will compete with other premium smart TV manufacturers like OnePlus, Samsung and LG.

The same report also confirms that alongside the OLED TV, Xiaomi’s TV team is also working to bring TVs with real 8K resolution very soon. The company also reveals that it is working on multiple screen TVs, MINI LED, 8K full-process, among technologies. The report also confirms that 2020 will see more Xiaomi TVs coming from the company.

This year Redmi launched only one TV with 70-inch screen. The Redmi 70-inch TV is said to come to India but will take some time.
